The Baskervilles Hotel is an early 19th
century redbrick building, partly creeper-clad, on the main street of Baston, less than half a
mile off the A15 between Market Deeping and Bourne. The hotel sign depicts the
dreaded Hound of the Baskervilles, immortalised by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in
the best known of his Sherlock Holmes adventures. The hotel has nine en suite
rooms for bed & breakfast guests, including two family rooms.
The bar is well stocked with cask ales, beers, lagers and
wines, and the food options range from bar snacks and light meals to
traditional favourites such as steaks and chicken, and a popular Sunday
carvery. The Baskervilles has a large car park and a garden with seating and an
area where children can play. The hotel has facilities for business meetings
and receptions, and the main-road links in all directions (A15 and A16) make it
a very convenient base for both business people and tourists.
