As featured in The Garden Magazine, Cambridge Garden Plants specialises
in hardy perennials, spring and summer flowering bulbs, herbaceous plants and
some more unusual plants. Among these is an excellent selection of
old-fashioned roses, including Lady Hillingdon, one of the original tea roses,
and the shrub rose Rosa Gallica Mundi, which dates back to Plantagenet times.
The nursery has been a thriving concern since 1989, and owner
Kit Buchdahl and his friendly, well-informed staff offer a high standard of
quality and service and advice on many aspects of plants.
The soil here is sandy, so they know all about dry soil
plants, and the 3½-acre site includes a large pond, so a variety of
pondside plants is available.
The nursery, a popular place with local garden clubs and
societies as well as individual visitors, is open from 11am to 5.30pm Thursday
to Sunday, March to October; other times by appointment.
