Think of something that most women like and
some can't live without. Chocolate. Think of something even better, even more
essential to living. The answer might well be shopping for clothes, especially
in a shop like Better Than Chocolate.
This friendly shop on two floors of a centuries-old building
specialises in `ladies lingerie and more….', the more including swimwear,
nightwear and hosiery. On display is a wide range of all these items, everyday,
unusual and exotic, and owners Jean and Aileen and their staff are always on
hand to help and advise.
Lingerie suppliers include Prima Donna, Marie-Jo, Aubade,
Fantasie, Charnos and Chantelle; swimwear - Maryan, Mehlhorn, Lidea, Charmline,
Christina, Eda and Moontide; nightwear - Repose, Rossella, Arianne, Verde
Veronica and Miss Elaine. Historical note: the cellar was used during the Civil
War by Cromwell's men, but of course that was long before there was any
lingerie to try on!
