Bacton Farm Shop is a modern brick and glass
building behind the pumps of the associated service station. The shop
specialises in local produce, including pork and pork products from owner Nick
Alexander's farm.
Lamb and beef, fresh fruit and vegetables are
all locally produced or sourced, as are many of the preserves and pickles.
There's a good selection of nuts, pulses, flour and coffee, and the deli counter
includes a fine variety of cheeses _ local or from elsewhere in the British
Isles, including Binham Blue, Wighton, Walsingham, Warham and a new Montgomery.
A new and increasingly popular part of the
business is the wide range of ready meals that cater for customers who don't
always have the time to prepare a meal but who don't want to stint on quality.
Chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce and minced beef and carrot pie are just two
examples of the dishes prepared by Nick's assistant Sara and friends in their
homes.
Cakes are also made specially for the shop,
and sandwiches are made to order to provide tasty quick lunches or daytime
snacks.
