The Angel Hotel is situated in the town of
Bury St Edmunds, which was voted "Best Little Town in the World" two years
running by Nations in Bloom. The Angel, opposite the magnificent Cathedral with
its Millennium Tower, the award-winning Abbey Gardens (voted best park in East
Anglia), the ruins of the former Abbey of St Edmund and the historic Norman
Tower.
Steeped in history, this quintessentially English Hotel
offers a warm and personal service. It has 75 bedrooms, all different in style
including four-posters, suites, traditional, contemporary, some with
air-conditioning and all serviced by a guest lift.
There are two restaurants, the atmospheric Vaults Brasserie,
which dates back to the 12th century - totally unique, and the Abbeygate
Restaurant, overlooking the beautiful Georgian square. Both serve award-winning
two AA rosette food - you will be spoilt for choice.
With so many interesting local places to visit, including
Newmarket (horseracing), Cambridge (exploring the heritage of this stunning
city, leaving time for a leisurely `punt'), the breathtaking Suffolk villages
of Lavenham and Long Melford (famous for its abundance of antique shops -
Lovejoy country) to name but a few, you will almost certainly want to return. |
