Some of the talented and creative artists and craftspeople
display their wares at Corncraft, which occupies farm buildings converted after
farming activities ceased 20 years ago.
The two shops are filled with a wonderful array of gifts and
homeware that includes stationery and cards, leather purses, bags and belts,
pottery and ceramics, cosmetics, scented and plain wax candles, preserves,
traditional corn dollies and dried and silk flowers.
In the bright, airy and spotless pine-furnished tea room, a
selection of cakes, biscuits and hot and cold meals is served seven days a
week.
Home-cured Suffolk ham, quiches, pasta bakes and chilli are
just some of the most popular dishes. Monks Eleigh, with its thatched cottages,
14th century church and old pump on the village green, is a charming place to
visit, and the presence of Corncraft must be added to the places not to be
missed on a visit here.
