Andrew Lamputt Silversmith & Jeweller, established in 1985 is a
family-run business near the Town Hall in Hereford. Although silverware dominates the showroom's interior and creates an amazing visual
display, which is unique in the area, Andrew Lamputt
specialises equally in fine quality antique and modern jewellery. together with a wide selection
of new items to complement the range.
Often known as "The Silver Shop", where a dazzling array of
pieces both antique and modern can be found, especially for those seeking
an unusual and often difficult to obtain present. When a specific need
is unable to be fulfilled immediately, Andrew can source that
often-elusive piece from his extensive contacts within the trade.
During the last 30 years, Andrew and his wife
Linda have witnessed many changes in fashion and tastes from the jewellery
buying public seeking old jewellery. Indeed, from the mid-1970s Victorian
jewellery was in great demand and Andrew remembers restoring many fine and
ornate pieces from this era. Tastes changed in the late-1980s to a plainer, (and
some may argue a more refined and elegant style), when the demand for Edwardian
jewellery grew and remains greatly sought after even today. The new and
contemporary stock in the range reflects the ever changing desires of the
discerning collector together with platinum and white gold set pieces which form
an exciting addition to the extensive stock.
