Superb service is one of the hallmarks of
the Black Swan Guest House, which was a
coaching inn in the 18th century. The buildings
were totally refurbished in the 1990s using many
of the original materials, and the house and
stable block now provide very comfortable guest accommodation. All the rooms have showers
en suite, TV and tea/coffee-making facilities, and the large Premier Room boasts a four-poster bed.
There are six rooms in the main house and four large rooms in the stable block, which
can also be used as family rooms. Breakfasts,
using locally sourced foods, freshly cooked to
order are served in the comfortable dining room. A range of drinks is available in the cosy lounge
in the evening. There is room for 10 cars in the private off-road car park. Resident
proprietors Judy and John Patrick offer a warm welcome
to all their guests at the Black Swan, which
stands on the A156 at the junction with the A1500.
