A spacious and elegant farmhouse of character,
Baumber Park was originally built around 1680 and much enlarged in the 1800s. It
is surrounded by parkland in which cows and calves graze all
summer and there's also a small flock of pedigree Lincoln Longwool
sheep which lamb in April. Other traditional farm animals at home here
are horses, cats and dogs and chickens to lay eggs for breakfast.
Your hosts at Baumber Park are Clare Harrison, who looks after her bed
& breakfast guests, and husband Michael who runs
the adjoining farm.
Clare is also an accomplished horticulturalist
who propogates and sells some plants from the
well-stocked garden. The accommodation comprises three
guest bedrooms two are spacious with bay windows
giving excellent views over the garden and farmland. The
third bedroom is a double with a lovely big new en
suite bathroom and with views onto the farm. All rooms
have antique furniture, portable TV, radio and hospitality
tray. Downstairs is a large guest lounge with open log fire,
piano and TV, and a dining room with a big mahogany table and a collection of Lincolnshire
books. Guests also have the use of a grass tennis court. Tourist Board gradings are no longer sought
as there are additional things on offer such as character, space, tradition, extensive gardens,
home-produced fare and especially a warm welcome.
