Doddington Hall is a stunning Elizabethan family home set in six acres of romantic
wild and walled formal gardens, with a continuous pageant of colour form earliest spring
until autumn. It has never been sold since it was built in 1595 by Robert Smythson and
is still a lived-in and much-loved family home, alive with history and interest.
As well as the fascinating house history, its contents and its beautiful gardens,
it has children's activities, summer concerts and a Christmas shop. Freshly made
meals using locally-sourced produce, and home made teas and cakes are served in
the fabulous new café. There are award-winning facilities for the disabled and the
Hall makes an ideal venue for a wedding or corporate event.
Opening Times: Gardens Only: Every Sunday,
18th Feb to end of April,
also Easter Monday, 1-5pm.
House and Gardens: Every Wednesday and Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays,
1-5pm, May to end of September. Gardens open 12 midday-5pm.
Guided party tours of both House and Gardens welcome
at other times by prior arrangement.
