The Heart of the Shires Shopping Village is a beautiful courtyard of model farm
buildings dating from 1867 and comprising an
exquisite array of shops and tearooms. One of the
most interesting for browsers and buyers is In
the Cellar Upstairs. It is owned and run by Kimberley Egan-Humphries, who moved
here from nearby Weedon, where she cleared the stock from her cellar and sold it upstairs
- hence the name of the new enterprise.
The items on display change constantly, ranging from antique furniture in pine,
mahogany, oak and other woods, paintings and prints, mirrors,
oriental rugs, clocks, vintage luggage, china, porcelain,
glassware, lamps and jewellery. With the rapid turnover of stock,
every visit to the Cellar Upstairs is a delight and revelation. Open
10 to 5 Tuesday to Saturday, 11 to 5 Sunday and Bank Holidays.
