Brick buildings set around a farm courtyard have
been converted into two delightful enterprises, the
Buttery Café and Vanilla Jade.
Kate Brown's coffee shop provides a very
pleasant, relaxed setting for enjoying a cup of excellent
coffee with a snack. Savoury choices include soup,
panini, made-to-order plain and toasted sandwiches and
jacket potatoes, while among the home-made cakes are coffee
& walnut, banana, carrot, tea loaf, slices, flapjacks and
brownies. Traditional cream teas feature freshly baked scones with
fresh cream and strawberry jam. The coffee shop has seats for
38 inside and 20 more under sunshades in the yard.
In the same location, Kate also owns Vanilla Jade, a
lovely little boutique filled with clothes, gift ideas and things for
the home and garden. Among the goods on display, all
personally chosen by Kate, are ladies' light, informal clothes,
handbags, jewellery, kitchenware, mugs, soft toys, candles,
fragrances, greetings cards and garden accessories - a great place to find
a treat or a gift that's just that little bit different. The café
and the shop are both open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank
Holiday Mondays.
