For over 19 years, Country Works, a small, exclusive gallery,
has been exhibiting and selling original works of art, including
paintings etchings, jewellery, ceramics, glass clothes and cards. It is
owned and managed by Barbara Geddes, who brings a wealth of
experience to showcasing the work of local artists and craftspeople. She
is determined to stock and sell only the best artistic works,
and everything is keenly priced so that you, the
customer, can own a work of art that you will treasure
and admire for many years. The shop was opened in 1987, and Barbara has been here now for four
years, offering friendly, helpful advice to people who call
in. Country Works has been an award winner in the
Country Living Small Business Award schemes!
There are two floors, with the upstairs floor
being given over to exhibitions of paintings and such
like. These exhibitions change every six weeks, and
they have featured such local artists as Jenny Jones
and Anna Ravenscroft. There have also been
exhibitions of pottery, glass and even books.
Country Works is open 10am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 1pm to 5pm
on Sundays. It closes over Christmas and New Year, but stays open on bank holidays.
