Andrew Francis has been a butcher for 25 years, 15 of them in Ludlow and the last
two here in the centre of town a short walk from
the Castle.
Quality is the keynote throughout the range on sale: Hereford and Welsh black
beef, Berkshire and Gloucester Old Spot pork,
prime local lamb, wild venison from Mortimer Forest
in steaks, joints, casserole meat and sausages, wild duck, rabbit, pigeon, home-cured
bacon and ham, free-range poultry and eggs.
Andrew's award-winning sausages, pork pies and
steak pies are all cooked on the premises.
Outside catering includes hog roasts and barbecues, and the shop supplies many of
the top local pubs, restaurants and hotels,
including the renowned Feathers Hotel a few
streets away. In spring and summer, hanging
baskets make a colourful sight outside the shop,
which is open from 7am to 5pm (6am to 5pm Friday and Saturday; closed Sunday)
