Cannock Chase Trekking Centre offers the opportunity to enjoy `an ultimate riding experience through the tranquil forests of Cannock Chase'. The surroundings are peaceful and serene, the scenery superb, and the woods are home to 800 fallow deer. Part of the forest is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the open heathland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Owner Lisa Hyde has a lifetime's experience with horses and when she established the trekking centre in 1995 she was following in the footsteps of her father Joe Gregory, who owned and ran a riding stables when she was very young. She and her team have an excellent selection of horses and ponies, and riders will find a combination of professionalism and fun.

Accompanied rides for both novice and experienced riders take place throughout the day. The options are: 1 hour for novices; 2 hours for mixed ability; 2 hours for experienced riders; all-day rides; and evening rides in the summer. The minimum age for these rides is 7, and there are paddock rides for youngsters aged between 4 and 7.
