The Newberry family opened the Bay Tree Delicatessen
in 2006 in the historic village of Tutbury, on the A50 four miles north
of Burton. A mouthwatering array of top-quality produce includes deli items with
a Mediterranean flavour, among them salamis and other charcuterie, olives and olive
oil, vinegars, sun-dried tomatoes, pasta and sauce mixes, along with free-range eggs, local
cheese and dairy produce.
Sandwiches and rolls are made up to order in bread baked daily on the premises, and
other goodies include preserves from Cottage Delight, Forest chutneys and preserves,
hand-made chocolates and Turkish Delight. Baskets and picnic hampers can be made to
order. Shop hours are 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, 9
to 4.30 Saturday.
