`Exciting', Entertaining' and `Educating' are apt descriptions of
the courses offered at J.R.C.S. Falconry. Owner Jan Prymaka, a
falconer with many years' experience, started his professional career with
the Bird of Prey display team at Wobrun Abbey and his work has
covered all aspects of rearing, training, working with and caring for a
wide range of birds of prey.
Set up in 2001, J.R.C.S. Falconry is based not far from
Rugby near the Warwickshire/Northamptonshire border close to
some beautiful flying countryside and easily reached from the
motorway network.
The main courses, lasting 5 or 10 days, cover such topics as the law relating to birds of prey;
their food, nutrition and health; tools and
equipment; housing and husbandry; and training and caring
for the birds. These course end with a written and practical exam, and one-day experience
and hawking days are also available.
Jan's private collection of birds includes
vultures and buzzards, the beautiful barn owl, the
hunting hawk, the feisty falcon, the canny kestrel and
the glamorous golden eagle. Applicants can book courses by telephone, by e-mail or online.
