The Beckford is a traditional family-run country inn -
lively, welcoming, with good wholesome food, a fine range of drinks and comfortable guest accommodation. Dating from the 18th century, the Cotswold stone building has the look of a country mansion, and when owners Sue and Norman Hughes arrived in August 2005 they oversaw a complete refurbishment that has kept it in immaculate order. They guarantee the warmest of welcomes to all their visitors, whether it's for a drink, a lunch, an evening meal or a short break. The bar is well stocked with real ales (always including a local brew) and other beers, lagers and ciders, and wines by bottle or glass to enjoy on their own or to complement a meal. The excellent choice of freshly prepared food ranges from bar snacks to a full à la carte, daily specials and traditional Sunday lunch.

The restaurant seats 85 in comfort and, in the summer, picnic tables are set out on the lawned gardens at the front and side of the inn. Typical choices on the main menu might include garlic king prawns with a provençal sauce, oven-baked salmon with a chilli honey glaze, Herefordshire fillet steak, lamb's liver with bubble & squeak, and four-cheese cannelloni. The Beckford holds a civil wedding license and a marquee can be made available or there is a separate function room which can accommodate up to 60 people. The Beckford's eight spotless bedrooms in the modern wing are equipped with en suite shower and WC, central heating, TV, radio-alarm clock, hairdryer, trouser press, kettle, teas and coffee and mineral water. One room of great character in the old part has a sloping floor and splendid brass bed. The Beckford is open from 11am to 11pm (Sunday 12 noon to 10.30pm) and food is served in the restaurant and bar from 12 noon to 2.30pm and 6.30pm to 9.30pm, also morning coffee and afternoon tea.
