surroundings. Accessed through patio doors from the living room, each has its own lawn area running down to
the water's edge. All houses comprise two bedrooms with fitted
wardrobes, fitted kitchen with oven and hob, microwave, fridge,
washing machine and dryer, crockery and cutlery, and a large living area
with remote control colour TV. All linen and towels are provided.
Guests will find plenty to see and do in this scenic corner of the country.
Fishing is popular, with a choice of lakes such as Derryvegal
and Glenbeg, river or sea fishing. Just outside the town is Berehaven
Golf Club, a nine-hole course with a magnifi
cent view of Bere Island
and Berehaven Harbour. There's a beautiful white beach at
Allinies, ferries operate year round to Bere Island, and the peninsula has
many landmarks of historical interest such as the Ogham Stone, the
famous `Hag of Beara' and Puxley's Castle, home of the Puxley family
whose story inspired Daphe du Maurier's novel, Hungry Hill.
CastletownBere itself offers a good choice of shops, restaurants and several
pubs hosting live entertainment during the weekend.
