Winners of the Rural Cottage Holiday of the Year Award, 2003, the apartments are grouped around a courtyard of the stately main house which stands in 550 acres of beautiful grounds on the edge of the Fermanagh lakelands. Visitors share the grounds with a veritable menagerie of wildlife, including peacocks, chickens, ponies and working dairy cows they help the local creamery make great cheese. The 4 apartments can sleep 4-5 people, are very tastefully decorated with lots of local crafts and are equipped to a high standard with DVDs, CD players, microwaves and so on. Arriving visitors find home-made goodies waiting for them, amongst them home-made bread and traybakes. Owners Colleen and Nicholas Lowry welcome children who can run around without a care in the world "We are famous for getting children muddy!" says Colleen. Pets, too, are welcome. From the apartments it's just a short walk to the local village with its lively pubs, hotel restaurant and a range of interesting shops, including an art gallery, antiques and craft shops.
