Only five minutes from the medieval city of Kilkenny, Blanchville House offers a choice of bed & breakfast or self-catering accommodation. An elegant Georgian residence set in the heart of rich farmland, the house was built in 1800 and has been lovingly restored by Tim and Monica Phelan over the past 25 years. They have been careful to retain original features such as the wallpaper in the drawing room, which has been in place since 1823, and the wonderful original gilded curtain pelmets bearing the coat of arms of the Kearney family who built the house.

The spacious rooms are bright and furnished to give an air of elegance and relaxation. Bed & breakfast guests stay in the main house where there are six well-appointed bedrooms, each with its own individual character and private bathroom. Guests have the use of a drawing room with a real fire and breakfast is served in the gracious dining room evening meals are available by arrangement. For those who prefer self-catering, the delightful Victorian coach house has been sensitively converted to provide four very comfortable units, each sleeping from four to six people.
