Newtownmountkennedy boasts the longest place name in Ireland and also the country's most impressive clothes shop Fishers. Deceptively large, with what looks like a modest country store opening out into a large and spacious shop, Fishers stock a massive selection of clothes; from smart occasion wear to casual sports wear, and classic fashionable looks to countrywear for men and women in all sizes. The list of labels is far too long, but to give you a taster for the women there are Gil Bret, Gerry Weber, Olsen, Bianca, Michele, Hammer, and Elena Miro. The mens' list is equally enviable with Magee, Musto and Barbour rubbing shoulders with RedGreen, Gaastra, Aigle, Oakman and Eterna. Fishers also know how important it is to have a complete outfit and so they specialise in complementary accessories bags, scarves and jewellery. The gift area has also recently been developed even further.

Gourmet food, fine wines and speciality coffees with home bakes at Fishers Buttery Café should definitely not be missed and while there you can also check out the works of art on sale.
