Duil A' Ri meaning `Desire of Kings' is a small personal jewellery design workshop on Wicklow Town's Main Street. Wicklow Town is still an important port and the sea is just a short walk from the shop. More recently it has become a commuter town. Mario Melisse the jeweller/owner of Duil A' Ri can be seen at work in precious metals (including platinum) and gems in the old world workshop and you can also browse through the jewellery on display there. If you have an idea for a unique piece of jewellery, Duil A' Ri can make it a reality. Designs are taken from idea to gift wrapped end product in Duil A' Ri. The shop is regularly visited by a variety of stone dealers and diamonds on approval, up to at least a full carat, are obtainable . Any other wishes such as swiss jewelled automatic watch movements around which you can design yourself a watch, or special alloy golds, or techniques such as `mokkume gane', the Japanese wood grain metal, are warmly welcomed.

Mario also teaches jewellery making and the little shop is often bustling with ideas and activity. Mario is always glad to pass on information and will take time to discuss your options with you. You can make an appointment to design a piece with Mario or alternatively, have him design it for you. At Duil A' Ri emphasis is placed on information and providing as broad a service as possible.A visit to Duil A' Ri is always an educational and pleasant experience.

Even though Mario has focused on engagement style rings, he has experience in a number of disciplines such as sculpting in wood, stone and bronze and he even has a distant past in musical instrument building. The moulding together of these skills ensure that you get well engineered jewellery in Duil A' Ri.
