The Red House is an 18th century former town house in the shadows of York Minster. It is a grade II listed building constructed c.1700 for Sir William Robinson, the Lord Mayor of York, and was renovated in 1999, opening as the city's only quality datelined antiques centre. The centre sells antique, 20th century and decorative furniture, watches, silver, metalware, glass, pottery, porcelain, paintings, objects d'art, prints, books, tribal art, coins, militaria and jewellery. Specialist rooms of antiquities, toys and clocks have been added, together with three showrooms of Art Deco items, making it an important place in York for dealers, collectors and visitors.

The stunning location and design of the house is a perfect backdrop for many tempting items to suit every budget, and is often featured in the BBC's antiques programmes. The centre is open seven days a week, closed only on 25th and 26th December and 1st January. Open Monday to Friday 9.30am-5.30pm, Saturday 9.30am-6pm and Sunday 10.30am-5.30pm. Also open till 7pm prior to Christmas and mid-July to the end of August. The Red House caters for customers by providing a packing, delivery and shipping service worldwide.

"A unique antiques centre in the city of York, well worth a visit." Daily Telegraph
