Pickering Antique Centre is
set in the charming market town of Pickering (market day is
Monday) on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National
Park.
James and Christina Vance, the
proprietors, have operated their family business from
Pickering since the late nineties. They have a floor area of
3,500 square feet and now house 45 dealers. There is a vast
range of antiques from Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian
furniture, pine, metal and wooden bedsteads, linen, ceramics,
brass and copperware, silver and silver plate, paintings and
prints, books and postcards, toys, clocks and lighting.
The
collectables include Beswick, Wade, Royal Doulton, Royal
Albert, Royal Crown Derby and Border Fine Art. You will also
find an eclectic mix of English and continental kitchenalia,
gramophones, records, radios, French enamelware and salvage
antiques. The atmosphere throughout the centre is always warm
and friendly and the experienced staff are on hand to offer
expert advice.
Open
seven days a week from 10am to 5pm there is a free customer
car park at the rear of the centre and the centre has disabled
access.
At Unit 21, David and Angela
Lloyd-Williams operate their 30 year old business Hawthorn
House Antiques Limited. David and Angela specialise in fine
quality glassware and always have a considerable stock of
decorative coloured glassware, drinking glasses and decanters
from the late Georgian and Victorian periods. They also stock
a variety of fine quality period furniture and a small range
of china, pottery, clocks, prints and metalware.
All pieces are of a high standard
at affordable prices offering excellent value. They also have
a number of hand-made pieces of metalware from Armenia which
have proved interesting and welcome presents for special
occasions.
