happy marriage of traditional and modern, the house benefits
from the contributions of local craftsmen and women to its décor
and furnishings. Owner Brenda Taylor offers warm hospitality
to all guests. With views down to the reservoir and across to
the moors, Ponden House is the perfect base for long walks,
gentle strolls or visiting local towns and villages.
The dining/lounge area has views
down to the reservoir and across to the moors. By arrangement,
evening meals are served using the freshest seasonal produce
to create imaginative and tasty home-cooked dishes.
Vegetarians
and
vegans are catered for. Guests are also welcome to bring their
own wine if they wish. Past guests never fail to compliment
Ponden House as an oasis of peace and relaxation, where the
food is `out of this world'.
There are two double en-suite
bedrooms: the Purple/Blue room looks east across the
reservoir, while the Ivory/Red room looks west towards the
moors. A twin room has brass beds and a sink with seperate
bathroom. A hot tub is available but has to be pre-booked for
a group of six - eight people. The water is fresh for the
group and has no chemicals added and is heated by wood over 24
hours. Situated just off the B6142 (Haworth-Colne Road) three
miles from Haworth, to reach Ponden House leave the main road
at Ponden Mill and travel alongside Ponden Reservoir towards
