The self-catering properties featured by Brookhouse Cottage Holidays occupy an idlyllic location beside a beautiful stream with ducks and a white wooden footbridge. A gentle stroll along the riverside takes you to the 17th century village inn where good food is served every day; Bassenthwaite Lake is a pleasant two miles walk away. The Brookhouse cottages have a homely atmosphere, are clean and well cared for and of various sizes.

The Nest is a small interesting stable conversion on ground level which sleeps two people. Brook House 1, which can sleep up to 10 guests, is a delightful beamed cottage overlooking the stream with its own private walled garden. Brook House 2 is a charming beamed cottage with an enclosed patio that can sleep eight, or up to 11 if you also rent the adjacent ground floor Studio. The Studio can also be let separately. All properties are attractively furnished and decorated and equipped with colour TV. If you prefer bed & breakfast, owner Alison Trafford also welcomes guests at Bassenthwaite Hall Farm, a lovely 17th century farmhouse which has been fully modernised without losing its olde-worlde character.
