Set right in the heart of the Lake
District, in a delightful and tranquil setting, Borwick
Lodge is a rather special 17th century country residence
of charm and character. It is pleasantly secluded and nestles
within three acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, surrounded
by fields and fells in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The
old lodge has welcomed some interesting visitors in its time
Beatrix Potter was a regular visitor to the Lodge as her
brother-in-law and family lived here whilst she lived at
Hilltop nearby.
Although extensively modernised,
Borwick Lodge is furnished to the highest standard whilst
retaining its `olde worlde' friendly atmosphere. It has a
four-Diamonds Silver Award from the English Tourism Council
and the tastefully decorated en suite bedrooms have
complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV,
radio and hair dryer. There are also some beautifully
appointed king-size four-poster rooms for special occasions.
Breakfast is served in the elegant dining room with a choice
of a full English or Continental breakfast based on fresh,
home-made local produce. Please note that Borwick Lodge is a
strictly non-smoking establishment.
