Chariots Of Fire

Boreland, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire DG11 2LL

The aptly named Chariots of Fire is a three star, top quality equestrian centre that specialises in dressage and chariot driving. Here you will find the Chariots of Fire Stunt Team. The centre was set up in 1995 and expanded in 1998 into a driving centre where tuition is available in both disciplines. There is stabling and grazing for over 40 horses and ponies, an indoor arena, outdoor menage and purpose-built driving hazards; along with miles of wonderful driving in the surrounding picturesque countryside to improve fitness. The centre specialises in competition preparation and schooling, both ridden and driven, from novice to advanced.

In the typically Scottish farmhouse of Nether Boreland, clients stay in excellent bed and breakfast accommodation. There are two double rooms, both en-suite, each with TV, tea/coffee making facilities, clock radio, hair dryer and so on. Even with all these extras, charges are surprisingly reasonable. After a hearty Scottish breakfast you can take advantage of all the surrounding countryside has to offer. There's golf, fishing and quad bike riding, and the farm is on a number of recognised walking and cycling routes. You can even bring your own horse and also take advantage of the excellent four legged accommodation.
