Elite Falconry is owned and
managed by Janet Cooper and Barry Blyther, who are very proud
of their falconry centre, and are very keen to share their
knowledge of these fascinating and graceful birds of prey with
people who want to experience the thrill of working with them.
As you arrive at the centre you will be surprised by what you
see. Outside the barn, (except in foul weather), on the
weathering lawn you will see up to 25 magnificent birds
soaking up the sun or taking a gentle bath. The collection is
not the largest but is probably the most unusual in Scotland.
You will be captivated. More birds can be seen in spacious
aviaries inside the barn.
The falconry experience days on
offer are all very much hands on. You will start your
experience flying a great grey owl in her aviary; she is a
stunning, gentle delight. As your day progresses you will take
to the outdoors and enjoy a walk out when you will fly a
harris hawk, be stunned by the incredible speed and agility of
a falcon going through its paces and perhaps be awestruck as
an eagle drops to your fist from over 1,000 ft at phenomenal
speed. Another possibility is for you to join the exclusive
Gathering of Eagles that takes place every January in the
mountains of Scotland. This unique opportunity to see Golden
Eagles and others in their own very special environments as
they hunt mountain hares. If speed and falcons are your thing
again you can be thrilled as Elite Falconry will take you
grouse hawking with peregrine falcons when you can witness the
fastest creature on the planet as the falcon stoops in excess
of 200mph in pursuit of red grouse.
Janet and Barry established Elite
Falconry some six years ago based on many years of experience
and have since developed an enviable reputation for the value
for money and the exciting and unique falconry opportunities
they offer. If you are planning a visit to Scotland or the
Kingdom of Fife, give them a call and book a visit or
experience.
