Sitting on Quayside Brae in the
Isle of Skye's capital, Portree, Café Arriba is a
lively bistro/café bar that has an intimate yet friendly
atmosphere. You just can't miss it, with its whitewashed walls
and bright blue and orange signing, bringing a taste of the
exotic to Skye. The interior walls have warm pine, giving it a
warm, informal atmosphere.
It is owned and managed by Jenny,
Linda and Annie, who are determined to keep up the high
standards they have set here. The service is friendly and
informal, the food is great and the atmosphere is welcoming.
It is open all day, and by day it serves lunches and snacks,
as well as superb teas and coffees. In the evening it becomes
a fully
licensed
restaurant which is popular with tourists and locals alike.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, low music plays and
the food is outstanding. Locally sourced fresh produce is used
wherever possible, and the menu has many dishes that show off
the imagination and flare of the cooking. Some of the dishes
bring the warmth and atmosphere of Mexico to Skye, so be sure
to try one of them. You can order from the main menu, or from
the daily changing chalked menu board.
It is spotlessly clean, and you
are always sure of a warm, friendly welcome. Portree makes the
perfect base from which to explore and the Café Arriba will
surely become one of your main ports of call when you holiday
here.
