Antony Shepherd and his wife Cheryl set up Skye Jewellery 12 years go, making Celtic wedding rings. They draw their inspiration for each unique jewellery collection from the landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Skye. Each one is named after a landmark such as the mountains of Blaven, Marsco and Glamaig, and incorporates traditional Celtic knot work. All the rings are hand-crafted and have a unique sizing area which allows the ring to be enlarged or made smaller in the future without distorting or breaking the continuous knot work design.

Later they decided to set stones and pieces of Skye marbles into the rings, creating objects of great beauty. When satisfied customers requested matching earrings, the jewellery collections were born. Now the original rings are complemented by a matching range of jewellery - everything from pendants to cufflinks and earrings to tie tacks. All are available in silver, nine and 18 carat white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. Antony and Cheryl's jewellery, for all its craftsmanship and superb design, represents outstanding value for money, and any piece would make the ideal gift or souvenir. Skye Jewellery has gone form strength to strength, and their stunning new showroom - opened four years ago - has ensured that more and more people are becoming acquainted with their work. Their website and mail order catalogue (which can be ordered by phoning the above number) has resulted in orders from all over the world. Skye Jewellery staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and are keen to offer advice should you visit. The shop is open Monday - Saturday 8.45am - 5.30 pm, with late opening at the height of the season and Sundays 11 am - 4.30 pm.
