The three-star Ardachy House
Hotel is tucked away in the rugged farmlands of a typical
Mull croft, seven miles east of Fionnphort, the ferry terminal
for Iona. It is a three-star establishment that offers
comfortable accommodation in eight bedrooms - single, double,
twin or family. Seven of the rooms are fully en suite, and all
have hair dryers, radios, tea and coffee making facilities. As
you would expect, the food is outstanding, with all the
imaginatively prepared dishes on the table d'hote menu using
only fresh local produce wherever possible to allow natural
flavours to predominate. Breakfasts include the hearty and
filling full
Scottish,
though lighter options are also available if required, and the
hotel is always happy to discuss particular dietary
requirements in advance. After dinner, why not enjoy a single
malt whisky in the south-facing lounge? The view from the
window is spectacular, featuring one of the best land and
seascapes on the island. It's a panorama you will never tire
of.
The west wing of the hotel has
been converted into a self-catering apartment with one en
suite bedroom, a delightfully furnished lounge/dining room
with extra double sofa/bed and great views, and a modern,
fitted kitchen. All bed linen is supplied, as is one set of
towels per person. Prices include hot water and heating.
