Set in the small, attractive city
of Dunblane, a few miles north of Stirling, Graham Stewart is
a well established and highly respected designer and maker of
fine silver and jewellery. His beautiful work is collected
widely, and can be found in many public collections. He was
even asked to design and produce the "Honours of
Scotland" sculpture presented to the new Scottish
Parliament by the Queen.
And
you too can own an exquisite piece of his work, by visiting
his shop and workshop, set in a 17th century "red
house" in Dunblane's High Street. He produces bowls
(often hand-engraved), tumblers, centre pieces, candlesticks,
traditional Scottish quaichs, spoons etc and a range of
wonderful jewellery. Graham also sells a range of items
manufactured by other silversmiths, all personally chosen by
him to reflect the best in craftsmanship and value for money.
And if it's ceramics, glass, furniture, paintings, wood
carvings, rugs, ironwork and toys you want, Graham sells these
as well.
Graham is a graduate of Gray's
School of Art in Aberdeen, and in 1999 was awarded the
"best crafts/shopping" award from the local tourist
office. As well as himself, he now employs three full time
craftsmen to realise his exciting designs. You will get plenty
of friendly advice, and if you want to commission an
individual piece, Graham will be happy to advise. His shop has
often been called an "Aladdin's Cave" and this is no
idle boast. Visit it and see for yourself.
