David Bennett and Son has
been trading in Dunblane since 1901, and today its reputation
is as high as ever. If you're enjoying a self-catering,
caravan or camping holiday in the area, then this is the place
to come for all your meats, pies and preserves. It has won
many awards for the quality of its meat including the gold and
silver awards from the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders for
its speciality steak pies in 2003, gold in 2004 for its
sausages and gold and bronze for its barbeque products in
2005.
For
over 20 years, the beef at David Bennett and Son has been
sourced locally from one farm ensuring the highest quality
linked to competitive prices. The farmer who rears the beef
even comes into the shop every Monday morning to check that
the quality is being maintained. It is Aberdeen Angus cross
and the animals are monitored daily, so traceability and
quality of the meat is assured.
The wide range of sausages,
burgers and cooked meats are all freshly made daily on the
premises. The shop also stocks its own range of tasty
preserves, marinades and chutneys. Special freezer orders can
be catered for, as can individually seasoned or marinated
meats for the barbeque. The staff are friendly and
experienced, and can help you choose the right cut of meat for
your needs. The present owner is Graham Fleming, great
grandson of the shop's founder, and he is determined to
maintain the high standards set all those years ago.
