Greenacres House is a picturesque
bungalow built of slate and hand-made brick that offers
superior bed & breakfast accommodation in a town just
north of Glasgow. It sits close to Palaceriggs Country Park,
and is the ideal place to stay while exploring both Glasgow
and the surrounding countryside. It boasts two comfortable
bedrooms that each has a TV, radio alarm clock, hair dryer,
tea/coffee making facilities and trouser press. They are both
beautifully furnished and decorated, and overlook quiet
fields. The B&B caters for families, and has many toys,
games and books for younger people to enjoy when they stay
here. A cot is also available, as are drying facilities.
The
breakfast is hearty and filling, though lighter options are
also available. Why not try the American pancakes with maple
syrup? Delicious! The owners, being interestd in history, are
always on hand to offer advise as to places to visit and
things to see in the area, and can sometimes even organise
excursions.
Why not come to a craft session at
the Greenacres' pottery and ceramics studio, Cherished
Dolls and Ceramics? It has been established since 1995,
making both pots and ceramic dolls, and there have been many
satisfied customers who are still taking an interest in
painting on ceramics such as plates and pots. There are also
quilting classes, throwing pots on a wheel, and a host of
other activities that will appeal to young and old alike.
Greenacres House sits just off the A80 main road connecting
Glasgow with Inverness, so a quick detour should take you to
it. The accommodation is comfortable and reasonable priced,
and the workshops are always enjoyable!
