Brockenhurst is a lovely place to visit and to shop, a jewel
amid ancient woodland with many interesting specialist shops.
Among these outlets Claire-Rose Interiors is outstanding. This is
an interior design company with a large retail store selling
furniture, accessories for the home and a wide range of glassware
and gifts for the discerning shopper. The company has been
owned and run for 21 years by Jan Stillwell-Goodall, who has made
it known as the Interior Designers in the New Forest
and Hampshire region. Jan is also able to travel to other locations
in the UK and overseas to advise on projects.
Claire-Rose stocks all the major designers of fabrics and wallpapers and provides a
full design and making-up service together with facilities
for upholstery, carpets, flooring, lighting, carpentry,
decorating, blinds and shutters and a design and installation service for bathrooms and kitchens.
They are also specialists in paints, with paints mixed on the premises according
to customers' requirements, and colour boards and illustrations are available. Paints are a
growing side of the business, and brands in stock include
Fired Earth, Zoffany,
Sanderson, Little Green Paint
Company, Farrow & Ball and Earthborn Clay
Paints.
In Jan's words, `creating memorable design means breaking with convention' and she
is always ready to discuss projects both large and small with existing and prospective
clients. Personal service has always been a keynote of Claire-Rose Interiors, which is open from 10 to
4 Monday to Friday, and from 10 to 2 Saturday; other times by appointment.
