A passion for sailing brought Carol Hill to Hamble,
and commitment to fine food led her to buy an
existing sandwich shop. She opened Bonne Bouche
in 2001 and developed the delicatessen and catering sides of
the business. It remains best known for its
superb sandwiches, with more than 50 fillings available
in genuine French baguettes, in white or granary bread
or in rolls. All the fillings are made on the premises
from fresh ingredients free from artificial additives
or preservatives. Breakfast is served until 11 in
the morning, soup and jacket potatoes are winter
warmers and in summer the zingy fresh salads are very popular.
From the deli counter come English cheeses,
pasta, olives and olive oil, sauces, dressings, ready meals,
local preserves, chocolates and juices, pastries and cakes. Deli bags in various sizes are perfect
for taking on a day's sailing or sightseeing, and the Bonne Bouche outside catering service
is available for office lunches, parties and functions.
