Teresa Garraud started her business life in Canada and had many years' experience in
the world of arts and crafts before opening The Emporium
in 1981. Behind its traditional shop front just off the market place, with
large windows and an awning, the shop is an Aladdin's Cave of affordable clothes,
jewellery, gifts and things for the home.
Everything has Teresa's seal of approval, from pocket-money toys and stocking fillers
to handmade Indian crafts, books, scarves, throws, cushions and cushion covers,
rugs, baskets, silk flowers, toys, novelties,
candles, incense, jugs, mugs, vases, bowls,
greetings cards and wrapping paper. Value for money,
fun and fair trade are watchwords throughout.
The Emporium is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
