One of the most distinctive houses in the region was for
many years one of the best and most civilised country house hotels.
New owners Christopher and Felicity Whyte live on the
premises and aim to provide again the highest standards of comfort
and hospitality in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Beechfield House Hotel stands back from the A350
Chippenham road in eight acres of beautiful, secluded gardens and grounds.
Behind the classical Bath Stone façade, the handsome interior is elegant
and formal and at the same time warm and welcoming. Guests will
feel instantly at ease in the day rooms _ the Morning room, the Bar,
and the Orangery. The 18 guest bedrooms, each named after a species of tree in the garden,
are spacious and well appointed, providing every comfort for a memorable stay. All rooms are
ensuite and are available as double, twin or for single occupancy, with ground floor rooms accessible
for wheelchair users. Family rooms can sleep up to five with the addition of folding beds.
Fine dining will be the highlight of your stay, with the emphasis on locally
produced ingredients. Much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used in the kitchen will be grown in
the hotel kitchen garden in 2007. Guests can be pampered in the Beauty Treatment Centre,
play croquet, swim in the heated outdoor pool (May-Sept) or enjoy a leisurely walk down to
the Avon. The hotel is ideally placed to explore the region: the unique National Trust village
of Lacock is less than 2 miles away, it's 6 miles to Bradford-on-Avon and 9 to Bath. Junction 17
of the M4 is a mere 15 minute drive.
