A stylishly converted farm building is home to
Auricula Jewellery, where owner Natasha Caughey sells a unique range of
gemstone jewellery. Natasha, whose qualifications include a diploma
in gemmology, set up the business here in April 2006 after
several years' experience working in a jewellery boutique in
London's Burlington Arcade. The jewellery is displayed in bright
spacious surroundings with beams and white-painted exposed
bricks. The gemstones are sourced from around the world,
notably from India, Brazil and Poland, and the metal fittings in
which they are set are in sterling silver, nine-carat gold or
gold-plated silver.
Natasha's interest lies in the natural beauty of
the gemstones and in creating beautiful pieces of jewellery
that show off their colour, lustre and interesting
individual features. She also keeps a number of loose stones for
the purpose of bespoke jewellery. For a piece of jewellery
to match a special outfit, customers can bring the
chosen garment and Natasha will put together a necklace,
bracelet or earrings to complete the ensemble. Auricula is open from
10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday.
