As soon as the artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant arrived at Charleston in 1916 they began to transform the house with decorations and works of art. Charleston became a meeting place for various members of the Bloomsbury group, like Virginia Woolf and Maynard Keynes. Visitors can have a guided tour of the house, explore the beautiful gardens, relax in the tearoom and browse in the shop.

Please phone the visitor information line before visiting for opening hours, admission prices and viewing arrangements.
