Applegarth has been run by the Benson family
for nearly 30 years and started life as a Pick Your
Own farm. It currently enjoys organic status,
growing several different types of produce including
a variety of different salad crops. The farm shop stocks over 1,500 delicious products from
free range meat, smoked goods, pickles and
relishes and fine British cheeses. The family have
a number of excellent local cooks producing a
range of home made ready meals, pies and desserts.
Applegarth is about to add further strings to
its bow in Spring 2007 with the launch of a fine
food café offering a mouth watering menu
for breakfast, lunch and traditional afternoon
tea. Recipes will use as much of their own organic produce as possible. A full delicatessen counter is being added with an excellent range
of charcuterie. The farm shop and café are open seven days a week.
