Healthy meats are the mainstay of Adsdean
Farm Shop, which was established in 1970 in a
converted farm building in Funtington, between Chichester
and Havant. Three generations of the Hoare family
are justly proud of the quality of the beef and pork
they produce: all the beef is under 20 months old, and
all the pork and bacon pigs are reared free-range. All
the meats produced on the farm are hormone and antibiotic-free, and the other meats for sale
are produced on specially selected local farms and
are available fresh or frozen. They use only their
own meats in the superb burgers and sausages
(gluten-free available), and all the bacon is cured on the farm.
There is a long list of poultry and game,
including venison off the farm. The shop sells a wide range
of home-cooked meats and home-cooked smoked chicken. Also stocked are fish, pies, part
baked pastries, ice cream, cheeses and butter. This is a beautiful part of the South Downs.
Claire Hoare offers self-catering accommodation on the farm in a delightful two-bedroom
converted stable building.
