Period Oak of Petworth specialises in 16th,
17th and 18th century English oak and country
furniture, metalware and treen. Jack and Jackie
Simonini's shop is located in a pretty 16th century building
in Lombard Street which, with its cobbles and
quaint old houses, is the most charming street in
Petworth. They have created a particularly warm
and welcoming ambience, redolent of beeswax and
the deep glow of polished oak, for enjoying the collection of superb furniture and decorative items.
The stock, sourced from all over the UK, includes antique oak tables, dressers and
coffers, and period oak and country furniture - reflecting
the owners' passion for early oak and country
furniture and their constant search for rare and
unusual pieces. Apart from the furniture they also
stock wooden carvings, metalware, clocks,
chargers, vases and silkwork - all hand-picked and of the best provenance. Period Oak is open from
10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday or by appointment - or visit the splendidly comprehensive website.
