When Wendy and Abby Elsdon came here in
December 2001 the house was in need of much care
and attention. They repaired, refurbished and
reorganised Alderwasley Cottage to provide comfortable bed & breakfast accommodation
where attention to detail is superb and an excellent
base for a relaxing break and for discovering Bognor Regis and the delights of
the neighbouring area. There
are three sea-facing guest bedrooms - the Blue Room with en
suite bathroom and the Red and Yellow Rooms with
private facilities. Thanks to the care and attention lavished
by the owners, the house is a delight to visit at any
time of the year, full of sunshine in the summer, warm
and welcoming in winter.
The day starts with a superb breakfast, English,
Continental or Vegetarian, that includes home-made bread and preserves and seasonal
specials such as apricots from the garden. The garden is an attraction in its own right, winning the
best B&B garden in the Bognor Regis in Bloom competition 2005. Wendy used to run a
bookshop, the house is full of books, and she organises regular playreading weekends at Alderwasley Cottage.
