Cigydd Y Fali translates as The Valley Butchers, and is a
superior butchers shop within the small, picturesque village of Y Fali, about
three or four miles east of Holyhead on the A5. The shop has been in
existence for many years, and was taken over two years ago by Karl Jones,
who has improved and built on the great reputation it has for high quality
meat and other products. Cigydd y Fali has recently won 11 Gold Awards
for Excellence for their meat products.
It sells only meat reared on Anglesey, and specialises in tender
lamb, tasty pork and well hung beef, with people travelling from all over the
island - and even from the mainland - to buy its high-quality produce. It also
sells award-winning pies and sausages, which are made on the premises, as
well as locally produced eggs and cheeses. Its cooked meats are all produced
on the premises, ensuring maximum flavour and freshness, and the shop
sells to all the major hotels and restaurants in the area.
The shop is noted for its value-for-money prices, and also features
a section selling fresh fruit and vegetables. This area of Anglesey
is holiday country, with many self-catering cottages, campsites
and caravan parks. So the shop is also popular with holiday-makers,
who appreciate the immaculately clean premises, the friendly staff and the help and advice that
is always given when choosing a cut of meat. So if you're holidaying in this part of Wales, or
even just passing through - then make your way to Cigydd Y Fali for the best in butcher meat
and ancillary products.
