Philip and Christine Havard were brought up with Welsh furniture, learning to appreciate
its unique combination of beauty and practicality. Thus they brought a wealth of experience
when they opened Havard & Havard Antiques
here in the heart of Cowbridge on St David's Day
1992. The main displays on the two floors concentrate on 18th and
19th century Welsh country pieces, including classic dressers,
dining tables and chairs and cupboards. They also keep a stock
of distinctive period objects, along with a new range of textiles
and cushions from Cefyn Burgess.
New for 2007 is the garden section with antique
and contemporary garden furniture; sculptures and water features.
The owners, who are members of LAPADA, are always ready
with advice on styling of both period and modern interiors to reflect
their owners' lifestyle and personality. Opening hours are 10 to 5
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
