One of the best ways to see Wales is on horseback, and
one of the best riding centres is the Cwmfforest Riding Centre
and Guest Farm. It is situated deep in the Black Mountains of
mid Wales, and these can be explored at a pace that is gentle
and appealing, with riders losing none of the wonderful
panoramic views and the spectacular scenery for which the country
is famous. This takes you far away from the hustle and bustle
of modern life, and offers an enriching experience that will
long be remembered.
The centre is owned by the Turner family, who have
been offering full inclusive riding holidays since 1970. Six and
seven day trails offer comfortable accommodation on the way,
as well as all food and drinks (except alcoholic drinks).
In addition, there are three-day trails, weekend trails, day trails and half-day trails.
You don't need to be a proficient rider to enjoy this way of experiencing Wales. Anyone
who is reasonably competent and feels easy around horses can take part. The trails offer
good, traditional fare, comfortable accommodation, trustworthy Welsh cobs and, in the winter
months, roaring logs fires in the guest house attached to the riding centre and on the stopping off
points on the trails.
