Situated in an elegant and pleasantly
proportioned townhouse, Ashman's Vintage Clothing and
Accessories is an Aladdin's cave of unique vintage and retro fashion.
The colourful sales areas are cornucopias crammed with
colourful clothes, costumes and accessories up to the
1980s, including beaded garments, ball gowns, bags,
shoes, embroidered shawls, Oriental costumes, wedding
dresses, lace tablecloths, bedspreads, Victorian baby gowns
and nightdresses.
She also stocks shoes, gloves and hats, china,
umbrellas, bric-a-brac, costume jewellery and an amazing range
of accessories for all occasions. It is owned and managed
by Diane Ashman, who has been 35 years in the business, and has been in Welshpool since
1991. She is determined to sell only high quality items at amazingly affordable prices, and the shop
has a great reputation far beyond the town and its immediate area. There are also many items
for men, including braces, cravats, bow ties, bowler hats, top hats and dinner suits. And
for children there are dolls and a range of clothing that is sure to delight.
You are free to browse here to your heart's content, and Diane is always on hand to
offer friendly advice and help. Next door she has another shop selling antiques, textiles, quilts,
linen and lace. Don't forget to call in there as well.
